10/31/2023 0 Comments Murder on middle beach ending![]() “He got in touch with me because he liked my work and wanted advice about what’s possible - get the lay of the land,” remembers Doyle. ![]() ![]() Hamburg originally reached out to Doyle to explore the idea of using miniatures to recreate scenes that couldn’t be captured on film. His work has appeared in galleries around the world and graced the pages of The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Time. The model for the opening was created by Thomas Doyle, an artist known for his striking miniatures. “There was intention behind every minute detail of this sequence, down to the color, shot design, and even the clothes that the subjects are wearing.” “I have a habit of skipping title sequences and wanted to create something that was more a storytelling element than a backdrop for credits,” says Hamburg. The shot finishes on a model recreation of the house where the murder took place. Intermixed are jarring flash cuts of family photos and home movies. In total, five unique dioramas detail the story arc. As James Lavino’s eerie theme plays, the camera pivots upward past a series of miniatures buried deep within the earth. What he ultimately discovers is how little he knows about his family.įraming this unsettling sojourn is a haunting title sequence that sets the tone for what’s to come. He spent years interviewing his father, sister, aunt, other relatives, and law enforcement searching for answers about who his mother was and why she was killed. Ultimately, he decided to make a documentary about his mother. Madison was 18 years old at the time and a film student in college. But what makes this unsolved murder story even more compelling is that it is being told by Madison Hamburg, Barbara’s son. An unlikely victim, police were unable to find a suspect. On March 3, 2010, Barbara Hamburg was found stabbed to death outside her home in Madison, Connecticut, an unassuming beachfront town. As the title suggests, Murder on Middle Beach, the four-part HBO documentary, revolves around a tragedy.

10/31/2023 0 Comments Ford maverick grabber![]() No back fees are due, according to the seller, and the car runs and drives, but it has not gone past about ten miles under current ownership, mostly as the seller has gotten it ready for moving on to its new home. The car was put into backyard storage in 1986 and has not been registered since 1988. The Grabber is same-family-owned since 1974, when it was purchased in Georgia and driven to California for use on a daily commute. There is also a very cool mini-console on the transmission bump ahead of the front bench seat. It is nicely equipped with a 302-CID V8 with 67,000 miles on the odo and an automatic transmission. This is, after all, a California car for most of its life, although one that has sat outside, apparently carefully covered, for years. ![]() You’d have to look under the hood and underneath to pick out any further damage. It appears, according to the seller, to have had paint on the front fenders and hood, which obviously suggests collision damage. The Maverick features Medium Bright Yellow paint, most of which is original. For this car, the package and options are plainly named in the included Marti report, so authenticity is beyond question. In 19, the special “dual dome” hood was also a part of the Grabber. It allowed for larger tires, and added trim and graphics, plus a spoiler. A Grabber was a car equipped with the code 93 option, and the number appears in the VIN as verification. The car in question came from the third model year, and is well-equipped with air conditioning (which needs renewing) and the Grabber package. The idea was to have an import-fighter which could also serve as competition to GM’s Nova and Dodge’s Dart. It started out as a two-door Coupe and later was offered in four-door form as well. The original Maverick was a 1970s compact car, offered from 1970-77. The Maverick in 2022 exists as a four-door compact pickup truck, and a handsome one, at that. You’ll be expected to show up in Artesia, CA to claim your new ride. Now here is a rather more perfect version of Ford’s 1970s car, a 1972 Grabber model, available on eBay for a current bid of $10,200 and four days left in the auction, which is happening with no reserve. You Barn Finders seemed to agree that this was steep given the build it needed. ![]() I wrote up a Maverick last week that was going for, if I recall, around $6K. 10/31/2023 0 Comments Maple tree seedlings in lawn![]() I am thinking about drastic measures like killing the tree but I don’t want to get in trouble. What can I do? I understand that I can cut the limbs and roots that come over into my yard but that wont do a whole lot for the bugs. The bugs are also doing the same thing to the last of my blackberries. Eventually I picked what fruit was left and let them ripen on the counter top but at a big loss. Besides even if they did die there are thousands more to take their place. The bugs would just move to the top of the peach where I couldn’t spray well. ![]() I sprayed the peaches with Sevin and it didn’t do a thing. When I check my peaches there are literally dozens of bugs on a single peach feeding like stink bugs. The tree is loaded with seeds and is infested with box elder bugs, could it have something to do with all of the extra water? Usually the bugs are not a problem but this year they have destroyed my peach crop as well as my blackberries. It has bee a struggle to keep this part of the lawn watered it only takes watering this area every other day with the sprinkler set for 120 minutes, no joke! My pawpaws in this trees root zone have never grown so much and I think they have been under watered for years. Their house and patio block the roots of the tree so there is nowhere for them to go but into my yard. ![]() I hate to admit it but I haven’t even met the new neighbors yet…įirst problem, the old neighbor let a seedling silver maple grow up a few inches from the fence line, it is now easily over a foot diameter and 40 ft tall. I have a bit of a problem with my neighbors tree, the worst part is that my old neighbor that moved out was ready to cut the tree down, if I had known the problems it would cause I would have been more persuasive. 10/31/2023 0 Comments Right angle rca connectorTiming: They both have timing, but Kenwood also has a built-in setting that can adjust for the front driver. The kenwood, you have to go through a separate menu to save the custom setting. You press and hold the preset you want to save your custom tune to and it saves it. The Slope GUI is equally difficult to use in the Alpine, but the Kenwood's is easier to understand. Not a huge deal for most people, but it's fun to play with. The kenwood is locked into the standard EQ range. Where the alpine shines is that you can move the bands around to adjust which bands you want to adjust the gain. The alpine makes you use the buttons below the EQ to switch bands and adjust the gain. It's much easier to use because you can just touch which band you want to change and slide it on the screen. Equalizer: Kenwood has the better interface.Obviously, the alpine does not have a volume knob, but I rarely use that anyways. Neither have any sort of lag when switching between the various settings or menus. The alpine screen is thinner than the kenwood's.įunction: Both are very responsive. The Kenwood uses the standard orange wire, but it barely dims at all. You can also adjust the dimness by 2 increments, but leaving it default worked well. It doesn't have an orange wire that you have to connect. It uses a light sensor to automatically dim the back light so it's not bad at night. The F511's lighting is more advanced though. The F511's black area of the screen is thinner than the 1007XR, so the display area is larger. They both have the same resolution, but that's about it. The color is so faded that it almost looks black and white. This is also true for the backup camera on the alpine. I've searched around and it doesn't seem like the washed out screen of the F511 is limited to this model. The vibrancy of the Kenwood is far better than the Alpine. Screen: The Kenwood's screen colors are better. I had to trim down the HDMI cable to make it fit whereas the same cable for the kenwood wasn't an issue. Both use a cover plate that prevents the HDMI cable from coming out, but the Alpine's design is only for thinner cables. The alpine comes with an HDMI in and out.The kenwood only comes with the single AA/Carplay/Media usb connections. One is for charging usb devices, but at a low amp rate. The alpine comes with 2 usb connections. The kenwood does not have a trigger input for the left/right inputs, so you either have to use the HU controls to switch, or use a video switcher like I did that funnels all the videos into the back up camera input so that it interrupts the screen when using the turn signals. The kenwood has front, left, right, and rear camera inputs. The Alpine's single din does mean you can tuck the wires under the chassis though, so it's a slightly easier install. For the Tacoma, the limited space behind the 2G radio means that it's going to suck to install it. This means you will probably have a bunch of unused connectors in the back of the radio. This likely is how they are able to keep it sized to a single din and not double. Built-in RCAs with only a few connections for the kenwood harness, GPS, and Mic. Connections: The kenwood is a very typical headunit. So many cars these days come with double din radios. ![]() It would have been a huge plus if the Alpine came with a din cover plate. ![]() It will only slide in that one extra position. 5" increments to get a better installation, but 1" isn't horrible. It would have been nice if the Alpine slider moved in. If you want to connect the front camera, you have to purchase another adapter, which is $20 on crutchfield. The F511 only comes with 1 RCA adapter for the alpine harness. One plus with the kenwood is that it has all the RCA video connections hardwired into the unit. Although I think I struggled more with the kenwood's double din size. I may pull it all back out and attempt some kind of wire clean up. Unfortunately, I was not able to because the Alpine comes with a mess of wires. My second reason was that I was hoping with a single din chassis, I would be able to get the dash kit flush mounted to the dash. ![]() It's not a big deal to have to press the button manually to connect on the Kenwood, but I'm a type of person that just wants to get in the car/truck and go. The reason I switched is because the Alpine can auto connect to Android Auto. I recently had the DNR1007XR and switched to the ILX-F511. ![]() The vessel density measurement of macular scan by mean of optical coherence tomography angiography demonstrated good repeatability. Optical coherence tomography angiography is a useful modality to visualise the microvasculature plexus of macula and optic nerve head. Likewise, the coefficient of variation of optic disc scans, for right and left eyes, ranged from 14.3 to 77.4% and 13.5 to 75.3%. The measurement repeatability tests showed that the coefficient of variation of macular scans, for right and left eyes, ranged from 6.4 to 31.1% and 5.3 to 59.4%. For optic disc images, mean vessel density at vitreoretinal interface, radial peripapillary capillary, superficial nerve head and disc segment at the level of choroid were OD 0.084 and OS 0.085, OD 0.140 and OS 0.138, OD 0.216 and OS 0.209, OD 0.227 and OS 0.236 respectively. ResultsĪ total of 176 eyes from 88 consecutive normal subjects were recruited. Data were analysed to determine the measurement repeatability. Novel in-house developed software was used to count the pixels in each images and to compute the microvessel density of the macula and optic disc. Two sets of optical coherence tomography angiography images of macula and optic nerve head were acquired during one visit. Subjects with normal eyes were recruited. MethodsĬross sectional observational cohort study. This study set out to measure the microvascular density of macula and optic disc by mean of optical coherence tomography angiography and report the repeatability of the vessel density measurements. Despite the potential usefulness of optical coherence tomography angiography in retinal and optic disc conditions, the reliability of the imaging modality remains unclear. 10/31/2023 0 Comments Pmp certificate courseIn addition to being a PMI / ATP-certified instructor, PMA instructors must pass our rigorous vetting and onboarding process prior to teaching our PMP courses.
